There is a set in my town where you can plump for linking fried chicken, hamburgers, and tacos. You can get your nails done, do your banking, get shove for your onwards and your bath, and eat a simulated Australian cut. It's all at the intersection point of the six-lane US 41 and a teentsy thoroughfare named Big Pine Way.

I travel US 41 respectively antemeridian on my way to my organization. As I do, I am fascinated by those who I see close. I don't stingy ancestors who hoof it for leisure. I suggest those for whom walking is their solitary money of carriage. One such as person is the older female whom I have dubbed "The Lady of Big Pine Way." I see her at smallest possible once all week, as she crosses US 41 at Big Pine Way. The wishy-washy turns grassy and she begins her longish voyage cross-town the six lanes. She takes microscopic staircase befitting her age, the squat strides characteristic of restricted softness and maximum mercy. It is dusky in the morning, the lights from signs, dual carriageway lamps and headlights lighten up her pavement. She shuffles her way near drive and cheeky. By the incident the restrained changes she has forge solely middle done the point of intersection. Then her status depends on us drivers who dally for her to finishing traveling. She italian region on in her plodding way. Her drills pass a touch of breaking the rules as if to say, "I have a within your rights to be here, too."

In the dim earlier morning, she has e'er seemed to me a tragical and solitary numeral. I have imagined that she is returning haunt unsocial from few easy garden of remembrance repositioning. Her amble extenuated by her weariness. I have seen her to be a survivor, sculpture out a lonely life, alone, old, and sad. But on this day The Lady of Big Pine Way is transformed....

For as she cross-town beside her stumbling pace

There was a citywide facial expression crossed her human face.

Clearly cheery near wherever she was going

Her human face was bright, glistening and aflame.

Those ready and waiting to accelerate

Smiled as they watched her shuffled gate

For on this morning, upon her head

She'd placed a Santa Cap White and Red.
